“Seeking the Sacred III”

“To hike out alone in the desert; to sleep on the valley floor on a night with no moon, in the pitch black, just listening to the boom of silence: you can’t imagine what that’s like.”

A quest to seek the sacred lead me to a strange land…a stranger in a strange land and feeling being a pilgrim on a journey. In the distance, an eerie light beckons the pilgrim an invitation to rest not knowing that God Himself is the mystical visitor but none the less, expecting a miracle.

Mixed Media: 7″ x 15″x 6″. Cast resin layers infused with phosphorescent powders. Native Arizona Alligator Juniper wood. Steel mounting bracket, LED light turntable. Healing soil from Mission Chimayo embedded in the bottom of the piece.

These pieces become my image what is invisible. At times the image is a mirage and at other times a dream experience where flight and suspension are the fantasy.
